Screw-side flank angle is larger than the normal ridge angle for ease of screwing. Tightening strength of tightening-side (bearing surface side) flank is increased by accepting and tightening thin plate with little angle ridge.
Stable fastening is possible by making the inner diameter of the thin plate closely contact with the groove, eliminating slippage with equivalent groove width of plate thickness.
Actuation of automatic tightening machine is perfect as screw ends are rounded and the taper gradually raises the ridge after remaining the part without it. In addition, operating efficiency improves as it is easy to find holes.
Threaded part of LIP SCREW is composed of terrace-shaped ridge, root width close to the plate thickness of the object and a rounded screw end. It is tapping screw for thin plates, whose material is low carbon steel with gas carburizing quenching and tempering.
